Welcome to the Avatar Meher Baba Heartland Center!
The AMB Heartland Center is a universal spiritual retreat founded in 2002 to honor Meher Baba’s personal sacrifice during His 1952 automobile accident near Prague, Oklahoma. Meher Baba said of the accident, "You must understand that this was God's will, and it will result in benefit to the whole world."
With this understanding of the importance Baba placed on the event, the Heartland Center has always been dedicated to memorializing and preserving access to the site of Meher Baba’s accident and the hospital where He and His beloved Mehera and other mandali members recuperated. The Heartland Center also has retreat accommodations which are just steps away from the hospital and a short ride to the accident site.

“When I spend time in a place its spiritual atmosphere is greatly elevated.” - Meher Baba
On Amartithi Day in 2025, a call came seemingly out of the blue, offering the Heartland Center the opportunity to acquire the accident site - a long-sought goal. And thanks to the generosity of Baba lovers from around the world, we were able to purchase the property in June 0f 2025. We are now in the process of planning a memorial and a Welcome Center for the site.
We’d been preparing for that day for quite a long time. In 2022, the Heartland Memorial Initiative (HMI) was formed when a number of His lovers met in Prague to focus on preparations should these two sacred sites become available.
Little did we know how quickly Baba would turn the key!
It was through His grace and the outpouring of love from His followers that the purchase of the accident site was possible. To read the remarkable story of how the acquisition came about please click here.
We are also still actively planning for the time when the hospital, now called the Prague Regional Memorial Hospital, becomes available for sale.

For those who would like to visit the sacred sites of Prague, the Heartland Center welcomes people with comfortable residential accommodations for retreat. These include the Burleson House and the Morrison House, both of which are on the same block as the hospital.

The Morrison House next door.
The Burleson House was the home of Dr. Ned Burleson who treated Meher Baba, Mehera, and the other mandali members after the accident. The adjacent Morrison House was once the home of Walter Morrison, a dear friend of Dr. Burleson’s and a faithful supporter of the clinic founded by the doctor.
We invite you to visit the Heartland Center where we hope you will experience the everlasting fragrance of Meher Baba’s enduring love and share our commitment to preserving these most sacred sites for posterity.
