NOW THAT MEHER BABA’S SACRED ACCIDENT SITE IS PRESERVED, HELP US MEMORIALIZE IT!
Meher Baba’s accident site on this past Amartithi just after we received the offer
An unexpected call on Amartithi Day this year has ushered the Heartland Center into a new era!
The owner of the property adjoining the site of Meher Baba’s 1952 roadside accident outside of Prague reached out with an offer to sell us the property, saying that it was a “blessing” for her to be able to do this for the Heartland Center.
Then on Baba’s birthday, the owner called again to confirm her intent. And on May 24, the very day of the anniversary of the accident, we received yet another call letting us know the contract would arrive imminently. It seems obvious to us that this timing could only have been orchestrated by Meher Baba.
The purchase of this property has been a vision of the Heartland Center from its very inception.
By Baba’s Grace, and with the generous outpouring of support from His lovers worldwide, the long held dream of acquiring the accident site property became a reality on June 25, 2025!
In the three weeks between signing of the contract and the closing date, more than 240 people contributed sufficient funds to more than cover the purchase price. We now have a solid foundation to begin creating a memorial honoring Baba’s and Mehera’s enormous suffering at this sacred site.
It is truly amazing!

The six-acre property is part of the larger farm that was owned by Stanley Moucka, the farmer who gave loving care to Meher Baba and Mehera at the time of the accident. A draft design concept has been created to include a welcome center, and most importantly, a dedicated space for pilgrims to sit in remembrance of their Beloved.

While we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support, we haven’t yet reached our initial fundraising target of $750,000. In addition to the purchase of the property, that goal includes funds for:
Development of a Welcome Center where visitors can learn more about Baba’s accident, relax, read and share time with others.
Creation of a special area overlooking the accident site where visitors can sit in remembrance of Meher Baba and Mehera.
Demolition and removal of deteriorated outbuildings.
Landscaping to foster an open and inviting atmosphere.
Provision for entry and parking.
Operational expenses for the first 2 years.
Any funds received in excess of this goal will be used for further development of the accident site and the possible purchase of additional property as it becomes available.
Thanks to the loving service and generosity of countless followers of Meher Baba, the Heartland Center is already a place of international pilgrimage. Many of His lovers from throughout the world have stayed at the Center’s Burleson and Morrison Houses to pay homage at the accident site, the sacred place where the Avatar’s blood was shed. Meher Baba said the accident “was God’s will and it will result in benefit to the whole world.”
We are profoundly grateful to Baba for turning the key and inspiring each donor to contribute their love and generous gift to this effort. Thank you!
If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to contribute and would still like to, there’s still time.
